Our Special Reserve Mead is a big, strong, complex honey wine. The alcohol content is 16% and the mead is off-dry (between dry and semi-sweet). It is aged heavily in oak for a long period of time. This is by far our longest aged mead! We also use a significant percentage of buckwheat honey which is wonderfully unique. We recommend the mead to be served at cellar temperature (around 50 to 60 degrees F). If pairing this mead with food, you’ve got to get medieval with it! Very flavorful cheeses, smoked turkey legs, and hearty sausages are some recommendations.

Our Special Reserve Mead won a bronze medal at the 2009 Mazer Cup, a gold medal in 2010, and a silver in 2011 - the Mazer Cup is the largest mead competition in the world!
